Our Story

Heal Studio is a collective of passionate therapists working from a converted library spa in Barking since 2012—an enduring Olympic legacy. Our roots lie in the London 2012 Olympic Festival and the creation of the Barking Bathhouse, a pioneering pop-up spa that revived the area’s historic bathhouse tradition. Designed as a welcoming community space, the Bathhouse brought people together through massage, sauna, and shared wellbeing experiences. This spirit of accessibility, creativity, and community care continues to shape everything we do at Heal Studio today.

That same spirit of shared wellbeing continues at Heal Studio today. Based in a converted library spa in Barking, the studio remains a place shaped by the area’s tradition of public care and community gathering. It is home to a collective of independent practitioners offering massage, yoga, and holistic therapies, working quietly and collaboratively under one roof. The space invites people to slow down, be supported, and reconnect in an environment that feels rooted, calm, and familiar.

This connection to place extends beyond the studio walls. Heal Studio’s work naturally moves into the wider community, with practitioners delivering wellbeing sessions in GP surgeries, care homes, community centres, and at local events across Barking. From small pop-up shoulder and hand massage sessions to wider community wellbeing projects, the approach remains consistent — thoughtful, inclusive, and grounded in care. Wherever it takes place, the work reflects a continuing commitment to accessible wellbeing shaped by local need and shared experience.
